UGuardU Customer Uses Solution to Monitor Boat at Lake House
A customer in the Midwest contacted UGuardU wishing he could monitor his dock and boat on the lift when he was not at his Lake of the Ozark’s house. The customer lives about 350 miles away and wanted to be able to see that his boat was sitting correctly on the lift and that the dock had not been damaged during major storms that often surge through the area. Many times such storms can cause the boat to shift on the lift. If another storm comes through, there would be potential damage to the boat from rough waters.
He wanted an easy, cost effective solution that he could setup himself. UGuardU shipped him a $200 M1011-W wireless network camera with instructions. He set up the camera on his wireless network, pointed it through a window overlooking the dock and within minutes he had a spectacular image of his boat and dock.
During a recent winter snow storm the customer heard about roofs on the docks collapsing because of the massive amount of snow that they had been receiving in the area. Many of the docks in that area were not designed for such weight from the heavy snow.
