Engineering Firm Uses UGuardU to Capture Two Years of HD Video

An engineering firm in the Portland area is using the UGuardU Video Recording Solution (UGU VRS) to capture over two years of construction video. Using HD cameras, the firm can login to their UGU VRS webpage and watch the day to day progress of the construction site at 1920 X 1080 resolutions without having to physically be there. The solution allows the engineering firm to track progress and to use the video to mitigate their liability on a project if something were to go wrong. If the project falls behind, they will have the video to prove which contractor is at fault. They also plan on using the video to make a time laps video of the project.

The UGU developers have customized the software to capture a .jpeg image once every 5 seconds, reducing the need for capacity and bandwidth. The customer can adjust the frequency of the snapshots on their own. The great thing about the UGU VRS is that it is completely customizable to handle any capacity, meaning you can have a virtually unlimited number of cameras recording for an unlimited period of time. Our solution has the ability to grow into the petabyte range if this type of capacity is needed. We also built in the ability to use a “super fast forward” feature. This allows the customer to drag a sliding bar to adjust the frequency at which they would like to view the individual frames. This capability makes it much more convenient to quickly run through a couple days of footage in the matter of minutes.
